Wes Montgomery – Bumpin’ (Vinyl LP)

$50.00

Wes Montgomery is universally acknowledged as one of the greatest jazz guitarists of all time. After six fruitful years on Riverside, Montgomery left for Verve where he recorded ten albums in just a few years time including 1965’s Bumpin’, his second for the label and first to hit the charts. Backed by Bob Cranshaw (bass), Grady Tate (drums) and Roger Kellaway (piano) plus a sublime sounding orchestra conducted and arranged by Don Sebesky, Montgomery offers up a silky smooth 8-track set of cool jazz here highlighted by the charming and graceful numbers “A Quiet Thing” and “Here’s That Rainy Day.”
