“Beat Tape 1,” which was produced entirely by Tom Misch at the young age of 17, from composition and performance to mixing and mastering, and released on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. True to Tom Misch’s admiration for J Dilla, it features a sophisticated sound that fuses jazz, soul, and hip hop, showcasing his outstanding sensibility as a beatmaker that seems to foreshadow the current lo-fi hip hop movement. Tom Misch, who is now attracting attention as a new generation guitar hero recognized by John Mayer and Eric Clapton, has already been a complete guitarist at this point, and you can enjoy his guitar playing throughout the 19 tracks.
