Recto Verso occupies a unique place in the recent history of French pop. In 2016, PARADIS – Pierre Rousseau and Simon Mény – released their first and only album to date, which has since become the object of a singular cult following. The duo indeed created a distinctive sound with this album: a subtle blend of chanson and electronica that would inspire many imitators. Ten years later, the album still enjoys an undiminished aura and is definitively established as one of the key records of French-language pop.
