Kings Of Convenience – Riot On An Empty Street (Vinyl LP)

$46.00

For over a decade music lovers have been treated to the delicate beauty of Norwegian indie-pop minimalists Kings Of Convenience aka Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe. Described as “the Daft Punk of acoustic music” (Drowned In Sound) and Nick Drake meets Belle and Sebastian, the duo’s 2001 debut Quiet Is The New Loud is a modern classic and torchbearer of the new acoustic movement.

Kings of Conveniences’ sterling debut and compelling follow-up releases Versus (2001) and Riot On An Empty Street (2004) are being made available on vinyl in April 2016 courtesy of Astralwerks, marking the first North American pressings of these timeless albums.

After a 2003 solo album from Oye Kings of Convenience returned in 2004 with their second official studio effort Riot On An Empty Street. The arrangements here may be more flushed out than before but the signature blended harmonies and lush acoustic guitars are still the touchstones. Includes two collaborations with Canadian musician and Broken Social Scene member Feist on “Know-How” and “The Build-Up.”
