RetroCrates is pleased to announce the first official re-issue of Singapore’s most iconic pop album.
The Mad Chinaman vinyl reissue was initiated way back in 2019 with the full support of Dick Lee. However, due to several unexpected challenges, it was delayed and almost shelved. Fortunately, the project found a second wind late 2023 and this time around, the pieces fell into place.
Without the original artwork to work with, the jacket, centre labels and insert artwork had to be carefully recreated from scratch. Pressed in the EU and remastered for vinyl from hi-res audio files obtained from Warner, “The Mad Chinaman” celebrates its 35th Anniversary in 2024 and is available on limited edition translucent “Glam Gold” vinyl
What began as a seed of thought in 2019, has become reality in 2024. We are happy to share this very local, very Singapore album with every household.
