The Debut EVO 2 is the first Pro-ject turntable we are carrying at the store. And there are good reasons for it too! First and foremost, you get to audition the Pro-ject alongside Rega and Audio-Technica under 1 roof.

The Debut EVO 2 focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design – expert craftsmanship – handmade in the EU.

So what makes the EVO 2 a significant upgrade over the five-star Debut Carbon EVO?

Firstly, a special TPE damped & anti-magnetic platter – The heavy aluminium platter uses a TPE ring inside to dampen unwanted resonances and noise. The counterweight also has a new TPE damping ring to as we do on our high-end players.

Also new is the precision CNC milled aluminium tonearm bearing block which absorbs all unwanted resonances coming from the cartridge.

Lastly, the EVO 2 has a new cartridge. The new Pick it MM EVO cartridge completes the Debut EVO 2 in all respects. It doesn‘t only complement the lightweight tonearm sound-wise, it also looks stunning on the turntable. Our phono specialists again teamed up with the cartridge experts at Ortofon from Denmark to work on this new cartridge. The cartridge is made from a unique combination of technologies. One of which is Ortofon‘s well known split pole pins. This enables it to have a flat frequency response, which is comparable to MC cartridges.

The EVO 2 also maintains the best aspects from its predecessor.

With an adaptive skating force mechanism – our anti-skate adjusts accordingly as the skating force varies between the inner and outer grooves of the vinyl record.

The new Debut EVO 2 maintains the a 8.6‘‘ one piece carbon tonearm design. The super stiff, but lightweight tonearm delivers an insane sound quality with a convincing sound stage.

The gold plated RCA sockets on the Debut EVO 2 will always provide the best connection. The included high Connect it Phono E RCA uses quality core materials like a copper conductor for a signal transmission without losses. This cable is a semi-symmetrical type, which means that the shielding is only connected on one end. Therefore, the yellow marked side should always be connected to the receiving end.

The EVO 2 uses a high quality AC motor that is mounted into a sophisticated suspension system that consistently reduces vibration. It also has a DC/AC power generator which creates a completely clean new sine wave for the motor. This guarantees very clean power which results in enhanced speed stability.

The EVO 2 is belt driven which prevents motor vibrations from travelling to the needle. Finally, it has electronic speed change controlled by the push of a single button.
