Carlos Garnett – Cosmos Nucleus: Muse Master Edition (180g Vinyl LP)
$75.00
Carlos Garnett’s 1976 Album Cosmos Nucleus Reissued for the Muse Records Master Series on 180g LP. Analog Mastered Directly from the Original Tapes.
Released at the height of his cosmic creative powers, Cosmos Nucleus finds Panamanian saxophonist Carlos Garnett expanding his bold vision of jazz as liberation, healing, and outer-space expression. A potent mixture of modal vamps, psychedelic textures, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and transcendental vocals, the album bridges the earthly and the astral with a blend of conviction and groove. This is Afrofuturist jazz at its raw and visionary best.
A rare and much sought-after recording with Garnett at the helm of a massive 26-piece ensemble that includes such luminaries as trumpeters Roy Campbell and Ahmed Abdul Malik, trombonist Clifton Anderson, bassist Cecil McBee, and on electric piano, a very young Kenny Kirkland making his first ever appearance in a recording studio.
