The centerpiece of the newly remastered 1991 album is certainly Cole’s electronic duet with her father, Nat King Cole, on the song “Unforgettable.” The album shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, won seven Grammys (including Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Unforgettable”) and was certified 7x platinum by the RIAA in the US alone. Produced by Tommy LiPuma, David Foster, and André Fischer, the album features Cole’s interpretations of many of her father’s signature songs, including “Nature Boy,” “Route 66,” and “Mona Lisa” and finds her accompanied on piano by her uncle, Ike Cole, and lush orchestral arrangements.
